- Installation
Welded ball valves: are connected to the pipeline by welding and are usually suitable for applications that require fixed installation in a pipework system. This type of connection allows the welded ball valve to be embedded directly into the pipework without the need for additional flanges or bolted connections, thus reducing the risk of leakage and improving the overall sealing of the system.
Flanged ball valves: Connected to the pipeline by a flange, the flanged connection is a removable connection in which two flanges are tightly bolted together. This type of connection is easy to install and remove, but may be slightly less airtight than a welded connection.
- Structural features
01 Welded ball valve body structure is welded as a whole, with no external leakage. The valve seat consists of PTFE sealing ring and spring, with strong adaptability to changes in pressure and temperature. The valve stem adopts explosion-proof design and is equipped with anti-leakage structure to ensure that the valve can operate stably and reliably under various working conditions. In addition, the welded ball valve also has the advantages of light weight, easy heat preservation, easy to install and so on.
02 flange ball valve consists of valve body, ball, stem, flange and other components. Its ball body rotates around the heart line of the valve body to achieve the purpose of opening or closing. The structure of flanged ball valves is relatively simple, but because of the need for flange connection, its overall weight and size may be slightly larger than that of welded ball valves.

- Cost of Use
Welded ball valves: because of its compact structure, light weight and easy to install, so in some of the strict requirements on the cost of the occasion is more suitable. In addition, welded ball valves have a longer warranty (usually around 20 years), which also reduces the cost of their long-term use.
Flanged ball valves: they are more troublesome to process than fully welded ball valves, and the materials are more and heavier, so the cost of using them is usually slightly higher than that of welded ball valves. However, flanged ball valves are relatively easy to repair and replace, which reduces the maintenance cost of long-term use to some extent.
- Applicable occasions
Welded ball valves: widely used in city gas, city heating, petrochemical, shipbuilding, iron and steel, pressure regulating stations, power plants and other types of pipeline equipment. Especially in the need for direct burial in the ground, welded ball valves because of its no external leakage characteristics and is highly favoured.
Flanged ball valves: Because of their simple structure, easy operation and wide range of application, they are widely used in various piping systems. However, flanged ball valves may not be the best choice for applications that require high sealing and long-term stable operation.
