The electric PTFE lined ball valve is an industrial valve driven by an electric actuator. The valve body and ball are lined with fluoroplastics (such as polytetrafluoroethylene propylene F46, perfluoroethylene propylene FEP, or polytetrafluoroethylene PTFE). It has excellent corrosion resistance, sealing performance, and operational flexibility, and is suitable for conveying and controlling highly corrosive media in industries such as chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical, and food.
GNEE Group manufactures electric PTFE-lined ball valves. The valve body and ball core are lined with corrosion-resistant and aging-resistant perfluoroethylene propylene using a high-pressure injection molding process, resulting in reliable corrosion resistance and sealing performance. Electric PTFE Lined Ball Valve Core Structure and Working Principle
Structural Composition
Valve Body: A metal substrate (such as carbon steel or stainless steel) lined with fluoroplastic, forming a seamless anti-corrosion layer. The thickness is typically 3-5mm, with a bonding strength ≥2.5MPa.
Ball: An opening and closing element with a circular through-hole, lined with fluoroplastic, integrally molded with the valve stem to eliminate rotation angle differences and prevent valve stem ejection due to pressure changes.
Electric Actuator: Receives 4-20mA analog or electrical signals, driving the valve stem to rotate via a reduction mechanism, causing the ball to rotate within the 0°-90° range, achieving on/off control.
Sealing Component: Employs a soft-seal valve seat (such as PTFE or FEP) that fits snugly against the fluoroplastic-lined ball surface, achieving a zero-leakage seal.
Electric PTFE Lined Ball Valve Working Principle
Open State: The electric actuator drives the ball to rotate 90°, separating the ball from the valve seat, allowing the medium to flow through the flow channel.
Closed State: The ball valve fits snugly against the seat, cutting off the flow path. The medium only contacts the fluoroplastic lining, preventing corrosion of the metal substrate.
Regulating Function: Flow rate can be adjusted by varying the overlap area between the V-shaped fluoroplastic-lined valve core notch and the flow path; the O-shaped valve core is used for rapid shut-off.
Core Advantages of Electric PTFE Lined Ball Valve:
High Corrosion Resistance:
The fluoroplastic lining can withstand strong acids (such as sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid), strong alkalis (such as sodium hydroxide), organic solvents (such as dichloromethane), and oxidizing media (such as chlorine) of any concentration. It has a wide applicable temperature range (-50℃ to 180℃).
Compared to stainless steel valves, fluoroplastic-lined valves are resistant to highly corrosive media such as hydrofluoric acid and concentrated nitric acid, and are 30% cheaper.
Excellent Sealing Performance:
The combination of a soft-seal valve seat and a fluoroplastic-lined ball valve achieves zero leakage, suitable for conveying high-purity media.
The actuator has a built-in position sensor that provides real-time feedback on valve status and supports remote monitoring.
Flexible and Convenient Operation
Electric drive enables remote or automated control over distances up to 1000 meters. No air source is required, making it suitable for scenarios without compressed air.
Rapid On/Off: Opening and closing requires only a 90° rotation. Low flow resistance and strong flow capacity.
Reliable and Durable Structure
The valve body is precision cast using investment casting, resulting in high strength and a smooth appearance. The lining is free of pinholes (leak detection voltage ≥15kV), ensuring a long service life.
Equipped with overload protection, manual emergency function, and an automatic reset clutch to ensure safe valve reset in the event of a power outage.
Applications of Electric PTFE Lined Ball Valve
Chemical Industry
Regulating the flow rate of corrosive media containing sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid (e.g., in dye production workshops).
Controlling the transport of highly toxic corrosive media containing phosphorus and chlorine (e.g., in pesticide synthesis plants).
Environmental Treatment
Regulating the flow rate of electroplating wastewater containing cyanide and chromic acid.
Precisely controlling the injection volume of strong acids and alkalis in acid-base neutralization tanks to stabilize pH values.
Metallurgical Industry
Controlling the circulation flow rate of fluorine- and chlorine-containing electrolytes in non-ferrous metal electrolytic cells.
Regulating the delivery rate of mixed nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid (e.g., in pickling production lines).
Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industries
Regulating the feed rate of corrosive solvents (e.g., dichloromethane) in pharmaceutical raw material synthesis reactors.
Controlling the flow rate of bromine- and nitrogen-containing corrosive media in pesticide intermediate preparation.
Electric PTFE Lined Ball Valve Selection and Maintenance Points
Selection Basis
Media Characteristics: Select lining material based on temperature, pressure, and corrosivity (e.g., PFA for high temperatures, PTFE for strong solvents).
Flow Rate Requirements: Select valve diameter and ball passage shape based on pipeline system flow requirements (V-type for temperature control, O-type for quick shut-off).
Control Method: Select electric actuator type (e.g., multi-turn Z-type) and control system (e.g., 4-20mA signal) according to requirements.
