Pneumatic Gate Valves Description
Pneumatic gate valves are valves that use compressed air as a power source. The valve stem is driven by a cylinder to achieve vertical lifting of the gate. They are used for full opening or full closing control of pipeline media and cannot be used for flow regulation. There are two types of seals:
Self-sealing: The gate is pressed against the valve seat by the medium pressure to achieve sealing (such as low-pressure conditions).
Forced sealing: When closing, an external force (such as cylinder thrust) is required to press the gate and the valve seat, which is suitable for high-pressure or high-requirement sealing scenarios.
Core structure and type
Typical structural design:
Parallel double gate: The two gates are pre-pressed and sealed by springs or cylinders to prevent jamming and enhance sealing reliability.
Buffer mechanism: Some models (such as Z644H) use double-layer cylinders or buffer devices to reduce closing impact and extend the life of the sealing surface.
Sealing surface material: Hard seals (surfacing alloys or ceramics) are used for granular media, and soft seals (PTFE) are used for clean fluids.

Energy industry: crude oil pipelines in refineries, steam systems in thermal power plants (temperature resistance ≤350℃).
Industrial systems: dust control in cement plants, slurry cutoff in sewage treatment plants.
Special working conditions: flammable and explosive environments that require explosion-proof certification (such as ATEX standards).
Key points for selection:
Medium characteristics: For medium containing particles, choose hard seals (tungsten carbide/ceramic), and for clean fluids, choose PTFE soft seals.
Pressure level: For high-pressure conditions (≥1.6MPa), forced seals are preferred, and for low pressure, self-sealing structures can be selected.
Drive configuration: For high-frequency operation, pneumatic double-acting actuators are recommended, which support fast opening and closing (≤3 seconds).
