Electric Actuated Knife Gate Valves Description
Electric knife gate valve is a valve that uses an electric actuator to drive the gate to move vertically. Its opening and closing parts are knife-shaped or wedge-shaped gates. The movement direction is perpendicular to the fluid flow direction. It is only used for full-open or full-closed fluid cutoff control and cannot adjust the flow.
Structural composition Core components Valve body: Usually chamber-free design, made of cast iron, stainless steel or alloy steel, to enhance pressure resistance and corrosion resistance. Gate plate: Knife-shaped or wedge-shaped structure, the bottom is designed to be blade-shaped (5°-50° wedge angle), which can cut off fibers, slurries and other media; the elastic gate can be slightly deformed to adapt to the deviation of the sealing surface. Seal assembly: The sealing surface is made of carbide surfacing or elastic materials (such as O-rings), and some models support bidirectional sealing. Electric actuator: Integrated motor, deceleration mechanism and control module to achieve remote automated operation.
Auxiliary design
The valve stem surface is hardened (such as hard chrome plating) to prevent wear; some models are equipped with an anti-blowout valve stem structure to improve safety.
Working principle
Opening and closing process: The electric actuator drives the valve stem to rise and fall vertically, driving the gate and the valve seat to fit (close) or separate (open), cutting off or conducting the medium.
Sealing mechanism:
Self-sealing: When closed, the medium pressure presses the gate against the valve seat to form a seal (suitable for low-pressure scenarios).
Forced sealing: Relying on external driving force (such as electric actuator) to press the gate and the valve seat (suitable for high-pressure or high-precision scenarios)
