API 602 gate valve is the most common valve, and its manufacturing size ranges from a few centimeters to several meters. The main function is to carry and cut off fluids. Gate valves are generally used in working situations where they are fully open or fully closed. When fully open, the pressure drop through the gate valve is very small; when fully closed, it has good pressure sealing performance. Due to the cooperation between the gate and the seat ring, there is almost no leakage when the gate valve is closed. However, some leakage may occur when the back pressure (generally not less than 0.34bar, bar=10Pa) is very low. Another advantage of the gate valve is that it usually opens and closes very slowly, which can prevent the damage of the pipeline system to the fluid water hammer effect.
