Reduced diameter ball valve is a special design of ball valves, its main feature is that in the full open, the flow path is round, but the valve connecting end of the inner diameter of the flow path and the pipeline ID is the same, and the opening and closing pieces of the flow path at the inner diameter of the reduced. This design makes the reduced diameter ball valve in technical requirements, materials, inspection and testing, shape and connection dimensions are in accordance with the provisions of ASME and API standards.
Reduced diameter ball valves with NPS6 or below generally use floating ball design, while NPS8 or above is fixed ball. It has various forms of sealing sub-models, which can be selected according to different working conditions, such as soft seal, metal hard seal, fireproof seat, and so on. Auxiliary sealing structure can be set up at the valve seat, and a grease injection valve can be added to the seat and stem parts for temporary sealing in case of emergency. In addition, according to the need, can also be extended stem to adapt to the buried laying occasion.
The weight of the reduced diameter ball valve is about 30% lighter than the full diameter ball valve, while the flow resistance is only about 1/7 of the same calibre globe valve, which is conducive to reducing the pipeline load and cutting costs. Within NPS10 reduce one specification, NPS10~NPS24 reduce one or two specifications, NPS24 and above depends on the actual situation.
