industrial ball valves Description
Industrial ball valve is a valve with a ball as the opening and closing part. The valve stem drives the ball to rotate 90° around the axis to achieve fluid on-off control. It is suitable for industrial scenarios such as petroleum, chemical industry, and power. Its core structure includes:
Valve body: commonly made of carbon steel (WCB), stainless steel (304/316L) or forged steel, with a pressure range of 1.6~42.0MPa and an applicable temperature of -196℃~650℃;
Ball: floating or fixed design, mirror polished surface (Ra≤0.4μm), and the flow resistance coefficient of the full-diameter model is close to zero;
Sealing components:
Soft seal: PTFE, PPL and other materials, leakage level up to VI (leakage <100ppm);
Hard seal: Stellite alloy surfacing, resistant to high temperature, high pressure and particle-containing media.
Classification and selection
Classification by structure:
Floating ball valve: DN15-DN200, suitable for medium and low pressure conditions (PN16-PN40);
Fixed ball valve: DN50-DN1200, supports high pressure (PN64-PN420) and large-diameter pipelines.
Classification by function:
Full-bore ball valve: The flow channel is equal to the pipeline diameter, and the pressure loss can be ignored;
Three-way ball valve: Realize medium diversion, confluence and flow direction switching.
Selection parameters:
Medium characteristics: Select hard seal for medium containing particles, and select 316L stainless steel + fluorine lining for corrosive medium;
Working conditions: High temperature (＞200℃) requires metal hard seal, and low temperature (＜-50℃) requires deep cold treatment.
