Subsea Ball Valves

Subsea ball valves are special valves designed for deep-sea oil and gas transmission systems, mainly deployed in underwater pipeline manifolds, subsea pipeline terminals and oil and gas transmission pipelines, with a working depth of up to 3,000 metres. Its core functions include:

Media cut-off under high pressure (10-100MPa) environment
Remotely operated via ROV (underwater robot) or hydraulic system
Resistant to seawater corrosion and submarine sediment impact.

Structural components
1. Main structure
Valve body: super duplex stainless steel (UNS S32750) or nickel-aluminium-bronze casting, wall thickness increased by 30%-50% compared with land valves.
Ball: full bore design, surface sprayed with tungsten carbide or nickel-based alloy layer, surface hardness of HRC60 or above.
2. Sealing system
Main seal: SPE (single piston effect) + DPE (double piston effect) combination seal, sealing specific pressure of 140-180N/mm².
Auxiliary seal: lip-shaped PTFE seal ring + metal spring compensation structure, compensation up to 5mm.
3. Protection device
Pressure relief system: automatic relief device for overpressure in the middle chamber, with the relief pressure set at 1.3 times of the working pressure.
Anti-corrosion design: Valve stem is made of Inconel 625 alloy, and the threaded part is made of trapezoidal anti-seize structure.
