Structural Features
Fixed Ball Design: Unlike floating ball valves, the ball in a top-entry fixed ball valve remains stationary during operation, with only the seat rotating around the ball. This design enhances the valve's pressure-bearing capacity and durability, making it particularly suitable for high-pressure applications.
Top-Entry Installation: The actuator (manual, pneumatic, electric, etc.) is mounted on top of the valve body, facilitating maintenance and inspection, especially in space-constrained environments.
Double Block & Bleed (DBB) Function: Some top-entry fixed ball valves feature a double block and bleed function, ensuring complete pipeline closure without medium leakage even during seat maintenance or replacement, meeting safety requirements.
Sealing Performance: Typically equipped with metal-to-metal hard seals or elastic sealing rings, it ensures reliable sealing under extreme conditions while offering bidirectional sealing capability, making it suitable for systems with bidirectional flow.
