ASTM A216 WCB split-body ball valve is a type of ball valve where the valve body is divided into two halves and connected by threads. When the valve is closed, the sealing surfaces of the valve and the seat tightly press against each other to form a seal. When the valve is opened, the ball rotates 90 degrees, aligning the gap between the sealing surfaces with the fluid passage, allowing smooth flow.
Advantages of Split-Body Ball Valves
Easy Maintenance: The split-body design allows the valve body to be disassembled, making maintenance and installation convenient. For scenarios requiring replacement of parts like seats or sealing rings, simply removing the valve body enables the replacement.
Corrosion and Wear Resistance: Special materials can be added to the sealing surfaces to significantly enhance the valve's resistance to corrosion and wear.
Low Fluid Resistance: The simple and smooth-sealed structure of the ball valve minimizes fluid resistance during operation, ensuring smooth flow.
Long Service Life: Due to the simple structure and the sealing surfaces being less prone to erosion and damage, the ball valve has a relatively long service life.
