ASTM A105N floating ball valve is a type of floating ball valve where the ball can swing vertically under medium pressure, also known as a floating ball valve. It is designed for low-temperature applications, offering excellent sealing and stability in fluid control. With features like low operating torque, long service life, and easy maintenance, it is widely used in industries such as petrochemical, metallurgy, and papermaking.
Working Principle
The valve controls flow by rotating the ball 90°:
Open: When the ball's channel aligns with the valve body, fluid flows.
Closed: When rotated to a vertical position, the flow is cut off.
Key Features
Low-Temperature Adaptability:
Made of special materials (e.g., LCB, LC3, CF8) with cryogenic treatment to prevent brittle fracture or deformation at low temperatures.
Sealing Performance:
Precision-ground ball and seat with spring-loaded redundant seals (e.g., soft seat + fire-safe seat) for bubble-tight shutoff.
Corrosion Resistance:
Stainless steel (304/316) and PTFE/PCTFE seals ensure compatibility with corrosive media.
Critical Structural Features
Extended Neck Design:
For temperatures below -50°C, a 250mm neck keeps the packing above 0°C, preventing seal failure.
Self-Relief Function:
Pressure relief holes in the ball and seat release cavity pressure, avoiding seal damage from thermal expansion.
Fire & Static Protection:
Fire-resistant graphite packing and anti-static devices ensure integrity in extreme conditions.
