What is the use of full port ball valve?

Structural Features

Valve Core Design: The diameter of the through-hole on the valve core ball is approximately the same as the inner diameter of the pipe. In the fully open state, fluid passes through the valve with almost no obstruction, allowing for full flow and minimizing pressure loss.

Internal Valve Structure: The valve seat of a full-bore ball valve typically employs an elastic or metal sealing structure, tightly fitting the ball to ensure excellent sealing in the closed state. Simultaneously, to accommodate the full-bore requirement, the valve's inlet and outlet channels are consistent with the ball's through-hole and the pipe's inner diameter, ensuring smooth fluid flow.

Performance Advantages

Low Flow Resistance: Because the ball's through-hole matches the pipe's inner diameter, fluid does not experience significant throttling due to narrowing of the passage when passing through the valve. The flow resistance coefficient is very low, which allows the use of full-bore ball valves in pipeline systems to reduce system energy consumption and improve transport efficiency.

High Flow Rate: Capable of transporting large flow rates, particularly suitable for applications with high flow requirements, such as large oil and gas pipelines, and pipeline systems requiring rapid emptying or filling.

Excellent Pipeline Cleaning Function: In pipelines requiring cleaning operations, such as long-distance oil and gas pipelines, full-bore ball valves allow pipeline pigs to pass smoothly, facilitating pipeline maintenance and cleaning.

Applications

Oil and Gas Industry: In long-distance oil and gas pipelines, full-bore ball valves are commonly used for the cutoff and control of main pipelines, ensuring the efficient transportation of large quantities of oil and gas, while also facilitating cleaning operations during pipeline maintenance.

Chemical Industry: In large-scale chemical production facilities, such as raw material and product transportation pipelines in oil refineries and chemical plants, full-bore ball valves can be used to control high-flow-rate fluids, ensuring the continuity and stability of the production process.

Water Supply, Drainage, and Water Treatment Systems: In applications requiring high-flow-rate transportation, such as main pipelines in urban water supply and drainage systems and inlet and outlet pipelines in large water treatment plants, full-bore ball valves can effectively control water flow and can quickly empty or fill pipelines when needed.

In the power industry, full-bore ball valves are also widely used in high-flow-rate pipeline systems such as cooling water pipelines and demineralized water pipelines in thermal power plants, as they can meet the system's requirements for flow rate and low flow resistance.
