JIS 5K valves have a pressure rating of 0.5 MPa (i.e., PN0.5).
Supplementary note
- Correspondence between JIS pressure class (K class) and national standard PN
The conversion relationship between the JIS pressure class, indicated by 'K', and the national standard nominal pressure (PN) is as follows:
5K → PN0.5 (0.5 MPa)
10K → PN1.0 (1.0 MPa)
16K → PN1.6 (1.6 MPa) MPa)
Other grades are analogous.

- Differences in pressure ratings between standards
The reference temperature of each country's pressure standard is different (e.g., the Japanese standard JIS may be different from the reference temperature of the European standard PN and the American standard Class), so the conversion in the strict sense needs to take into account the temperature factor. For example:
American Standard Class 150LB corresponds to about 2.0MPa (at room temperature), but the conversion to JIS 10K may differ depending on the temperature conditions.
- Key Differences
JIS Class K: Corresponds directly to the nominal pressure by numerical value (e.g. 5K = 0.5 MPa).
American Standard Class: need to be combined with temperature correction (e.g. Class 300 at 425.5 ℃ equivalent pressure is higher).
In summary, the nominal pressure of JIS 5K valves is 0.5 MPa, which is suitable for direct conversion when selecting Japanese standard valves.
