1. General opening pressure range
Conventional caliber scenarios
For pipes below DN300, the minimum opening pressure of a swing check valve is usually 0.002-0.005MPa (corresponding to about 0.2-0.5 meters of water column), and the valve disc's deadweight and friction resistance must be overcome by fluid pressure to open.
Special design optimization
Some manufacturers can reduce the minimum opening pressure to below 0.002MPa by optimizing the weight or structure of the valve disc (such as lightweight materials and low-friction pins).
2. Measured case parameters
3. Influencing factors
Installation method
When installing vertically, the gravity of the valve disc needs to be overcome, and the required opening pressure is higher than that of horizontal installation.
Medium characteristics
High-viscosity media (such as oil products) will increase the opening resistance, and the driving pressure needs to be appropriately increased.
Valve diameter
Large-diameter valves (such as DN300 and above) usually require higher opening pressure due to the increased weight of the valve disc.
4. Selection suggestions
Low flow rate system: Prioritize lightweight swing type or axial flow check valve with an opening pressure of ≤0.002MPa;
High reliability scenario: Refer to the national standard or the manufacturer's measured parameters to avoid the valve failing to open normally due to insufficient pressure.
