What is the difference between swing and silent check valves

Structural principle
Silent check valve: mainly composed of valve body, valve seat, guide body, valve disc, bearing and spring and other main parts. The internal water flow path adopts streamlined design, and the annular structure of the valve disc greatly reduces the weight of the valve disc. The water flow can pass through the inside and outside of the valve disc at the same time. The guide body at the rear end also makes the water flow almost turbulent. Its most notable feature is the bearingless design. Only the spring and reed assembly are evenly supported around the annular valve disc, so that the valve disc moves without friction and is more conducive to achieving the purpose of rapid closing.
Swing check valve: There is a hinge mechanism, and a door-like valve disc freely rests on the inclined valve seat surface. The valve disc can be made entirely of metal, or it can be inlaid with leather, rubber, or a synthetic covering surface. The valve disc rotates around the pin in the valve seat. When the fluid flows forward, the valve disc opens under the action of fluid pressure. When the pressure drops, the valve disc closes under the action of its own weight and the pressure of the countercurrent fluid.

Working performance
Silent check valve: adopts special valve structure design, suitable sealing materials and internal buffer devices, etc., which can effectively reduce the impact and noise of the fluid inside the valve and achieve a silent effect. The valve disc has a short closing stroke, can be closed quickly, can effectively eliminate water hammer, has good sealing performance, and closes without noise.
Swing check valve: When fully open, the fluid pressure is almost unimpeded, so the pressure drop through the valve is relatively small. However, the valve disc has a large stroke from the fully open to the closed position, and the closing speed is relatively slow. When the flow direction changes suddenly, the valve disc will violently close on the valve seat, causing great wear of the valve seat and water hammer along the pipeline.
Installation requirements
Silent check valve: can be installed vertically, horizontally, inclined and at any angle.
Swing check valve: The installation position is not restricted and can be installed on horizontal, vertical or inclined pipelines. If installed on a vertical pipeline, the medium flow direction should be from bottom to top.

Applicable
Silent check valve: Applicable to pipe networks with high quality requirements for water supply and drainage projects, and relatively high pressure requirements (pn2.5mpa). It can be installed at the outlet of the pump and is an economical and practical anti-water hammer check valve. It is also suitable for high-rise building water supply pipe networks, pipe networks with certain chemically corrosive media, pipe networks with limited installation space, and sewage pipe networks.
Swing check valve: Applicable to places with limited installation space in water supply systems, petroleum, chemical, metallurgical and other industrial sectors. Generally suitable for large-caliber occasions with low flow rate and infrequent flow changes, but not suitable for pulsating flow.
