Anti-static valve is a special valve designed for flammable and explosive media. Its core function is to eliminate the risk of explosion caused by static electricity accumulation and ensure the reliability of sealing during fire. Its core principles and characteristics are as follows:
1. Anti-static mechanism
A conductive spring is embedded between the moving parts of the valve (ball and stem, stem and body) to form a conductive path, which introduces the static charge generated by friction into the pipeline system and grounds it to prevent the discharge spark from igniting the medium.
Identification mark: The valve body is usually marked with "AS" (Anti-Static).
2. Fire safety design
Adopts a double sealing structure:
Soft seal (such as polytetrafluoroethylene): ensures sealing under daily working conditions;
Hard seal (metal to metal): after the soft seal is burned in a fire, the ball and the metal surface of the valve seat automatically fit together to maintain the seal and isolate the flame.
Identification mark: The valve body is marked with "FD" (Fire Safe).

3. Additional safety features
Automatic pressure relief:
When the pressure of the middle cavity medium is abnormal due to gasification caused by temperature increase, the valve can automatically push the valve seat to release pressure and prevent bursting.
Low torque design:
Moving parts use self-lubricating materials (such as PTFE composite materials) to reduce operating resistance.
4. Core application scenarios
Mainly serve high-risk industrial fields:
Combustible gas transportation: natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, gas pipelines;
Petrochemical and energy: refineries, chemical plants, gas storage and distribution stations;
Special media: oxygen, ethylene and other explosive gases.
Key tips: Ordinary ball valves cannot meet the safety requirements of such scenarios, and static sparks or fires may cause catastrophic accidents.

5. Key points to distinguish from ordinary ball valves
| Features | Anti-static valve | Ordinary ball valves |
|---|---|---|
| Safety Design | Built-in conductive spring + double seal | No anti-static/fireproof structure |
| Applicable media | Inflammable and explosive gases (such as natural gas) | Non-hazardous media such as water and air |
| Appearance Logo | Valve body marked with "AS" or "FD" | No special safety signs |
