Adjustable pressure reducing valves employ a piston or pilot-operated structure, adjusting the set pressure via spring compression. They offer dual functions of reducing dynamic and static pressure. Standard nominal pressures range from 0.6-16.0 MPa, and valve body materials include stainless steel, cast iron, and copper alloys to suit various media requirements. During installation, a filter is required, and the valve body direction must align with the fluid flow direction. Fire protection systems require additional drainage facilities, and hot water systems must prevent pressure imbalance during circulation. Depending on the pipe diameter, a straight-line design is recommended for pipes under 50mm, while a pilot-operated design is suggested for pipes between 50-100mm. High-rise buildings can utilize parallel configurations with varying pipe diameters to maintain pressure stability.
Working Principle of Adjustable Pressure Reducing Valve
When fluid passes through an adjustable pressure reducing valve, it first enters the valve body. The valve core inside the valve body regulates the pressure by controlling the flow area of the fluid. The position of the valve core is controlled by a spring and an adjusting screw. When the fluid pressure is lower than the preset value, the spring pushes the valve core downwards, opening the valve and allowing fluid to pass through. When the fluid pressure reaches the preset value, the spring pushes the valve core upwards, closing the valve and limiting the fluid flow, thereby stabilizing the fluid pressure.
Applications of Adjustable Pressure Reducing Valve
Adjustable pressure reducing valves are widely used in industrial, construction, and household applications. In industry, they are often used to control fluid pressure on processing equipment and production lines to ensure the normal operation of equipment and pipelines. In construction, they are commonly used to control water pressure within buildings to ensure the normal operation of hydraulic systems. In households, they are often used to control the pressure of tap water to ensure normal household water usage.
