The floating ball valve is mainly composed of the following core components, which are classified as follows according to the functional modules:
1. Basic structural components
Valve body
The main pressure-bearing structure accommodates the internal components, and the material is mostly WCB cast steel or stainless steel.
Ball
The ball-shaped core with a through hole is usually made of 304/316 stainless steel or carbon steel chrome plating, and the medium is controlled through the direction of the through hole.
Valve stem
Connects the actuator (handle/worm gear) and the ball, and transmits torque to drive the ball to rotate (90° opening and closing).
2. Floating sealing unit
Valve seat and sealing ring
Floating valve seat: Driven by the medium pressure, the ball presses the sealing ring to form a dynamic seal;
Seal material:
Soft seal: PTFE/RPTFE (corrosion-resistant, low-pressure working conditions);
Hard seal: stainless steel + graphite (high-pressure/high-temperature working conditions).
Floating support structure
Spring system: Double-sided springs provide preload, balance medium pressure, and ensure low-pressure sealing (key to patented design); Telescopic rod: embedded in the valve seat, guides the displacement of the sealing ring and bears the spring pressure.

3. Drive and connection components
Actuator
Manually (handle/worm gear) or automatically (electric/pneumatic), drive the valve stem to rotate.
Connector
Flange/threaded end: connected to the pipeline6; Bolt/nut: fix the valve cover (material 35CrMoA alloy steel).
4. Safety and auxiliary components
Anti-flyout structure
Valve stem step design + retaining ring (65Mn spring steel) to prevent abnormal pressure from pushing out the valve stem.
Packing seal
PTFE or graphite ring is filled at the valve stem to prevent medium leakage.
Positioning plate and thrust washer
Control the valve stem stroke and reduce friction loss
