WCC pressure-seal gate valve is a cast carbon steel valve with a core component consisting of a wedge or parallel disc. It is operated by a handwheel, electric, or pneumatic actuator, which drives the valve stem to move the disc vertically, enabling pipeline opening or shut-off. Compared to cast iron valves, the cast steel material provides three key advantages:
Higher Pressure Resistance: Standard WCC gate valves can achieve nominal pressure ratings from PN16 to PN420 (approximately 150LB to 2500LB). High-pressure gate valves under API 600 standards can withstand pressures exceeding 25 MPa.
Wider Temperature Range: Suitable for temperatures between -29°C and 425°C, with some alloy steel variants (such as ASTM A217 C5) capable of enduring up to 600°C.
Enhanced Corrosion Resistance: By adding elements like chromium and molybdenum (e.g., CF8 stainless steel castings), it can withstand acidic media or seawater environments.

Characteristics of WCC Gate Valves
Simple structure and easy operation
The carbon steel gate valve has a relatively simple design, facilitating installation, maintenance, and repair. Its open-close operation is straightforward, making it suitable for automated control systems.
Excellent sealing performance
With optimized sealing design, it provides reliable sealing performance, meeting demanding requirements for high-pressure, high-temperature, or corrosive media applications.
Low flow resistance
The straight-through valve body design minimizes fluid resistance, reducing energy consumption and improving system efficiency.
Wide range of applications
Carbon steel offers good mechanical strength and corrosion resistance, making it suitable for various industrial media, including water, steam, oil, and other fluids.
Cost-effective solution
Carbon steel gate valves have lower manufacturing costs and high cost-performance ratios, making them the preferred choice for many industrial applications.
