How do electric ball valves work?
An electric ball valve is a valve in which the valve disc rotates around the valve stem axis based on its movement. It mainly consists of two parts: an electric actuator and a ball valve. The electric actuator receives control signals and drives the motor to rotate, while the ball valve part includes components such as the valve body, ball, seat, and stem. The valve body is the outer shell of the ball valve, with an internal channel for fluid flow; the ball is the valve's opening and closing component, rotating 90 degrees to connect, disconnect, or regulate the fluid; the seat acts as a sealing gasket for the ball, ensuring no fluid leakage when closed.
Working Principle
The working principle of an electric ball valve is relatively simple. When the electric actuator receives a control signal from the control system, it drives the motor to rotate, which in turn causes the ball to rotate around the valve stem axis via a transmission mechanism (such as a gear, worm gear, or worm wheel). When the ball rotates to align with the channel, fluid can flow smoothly; when the ball rotates to be perpendicular to the channel, fluid flow is blocked. By changing the control signal, precise opening and closing control of the ball valve can be achieved, thereby achieving precise control of the fluid medium.
