Fixed high-pressure ball valve

Jan 26, 2026 Leave a message

High-pressure fixed ball valves are industrial valves conforming to American standards (ANSI/JIS), primarily used in the petroleum and chemical industries. Their nominal pressure ranges from 1.0 to 32.0 MPa, and their operating temperature range is -196°C to 540°C. They support various connection methods, including flanges and weld necks, and can be driven manually, pneumatically, or electrically.

These valves feature a fixed ball structure, with seat seals made of materials such as PTFE. Sealing performance increases with media pressure, and they have a low coefficient of friction and low operating torque. The ball passage is smooth to reduce media deposition. Valve body materials include WCB, stainless steel, and titanium alloy, making them suitable for water, steam, oil, and corrosive media. They offer low fluid resistance, can be quickly opened and closed with a 90° rotation, support automated control integration, and combine high-pressure tolerance with adaptability to various scenarios.

fixed high-pressure ball valve Working Principle

Open State: The ball's through-hole aligns with the pipe, allowing free flow of the medium with minimal flow resistance.

Closed State: The ball rotates 90°, the through-hole becomes perpendicular to the pipe, blocking medium flow.

Sealing Mechanism:

Floating Seat: The valve seat achieves a bidirectional seal by combining spring preload and medium pressure, tightly fitting the ball.

Metal Seal: Utilizing HVOF supersonic spraying of hard alloy or precision grinding, the sealing surface achieves high hardness and wear resistance, reaching a zero-leakage sealing level.

Automatic Pressure Relief: When the pressure in the cavity abnormally increases, the valve seat retracts and detaches from the ball, automatically relieving pressure to protect the system.

fixed high-pressure ball valveManufacturing Process

Ball Machining:

Forging Method: Formed by cutting and heating round steel or molding stainless steel plates, resulting in high material utilization and superior strength compared to casting.

Spinning Method: Utilizing metal spinning technology, material utilization reaches 80%~90%, processing time is as short as 1~5 minutes, and material strength is doubled.

Sealing Surface Treatment:

Ultra-hard Coating: The ball and seat sealing surfaces are coated with HVOF-coated hard alloy (such as tungsten carbide), achieving a hardness of HRC 70 or higher, significantly improving wear resistance.

Precision Grinding: Lapping process ensures a perfect fit between the ball and seat sealing surfaces, achieving zero-leakage sealing.

Valve Body Structure:

Integral Forging Three-Section Design: Suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure conditions, avoiding casting defects and ensuring structural strength.

Fireproof and Anti-static Structure: Equipped with a fireproof sealing ring and static grounding channel to prevent fire or explosion risks.

fixed high-pressure ball valve Core Features

  • High Pressure Adaptability: Class 2500 valves can withstand ultra-high pressure environments. The seat uses a Trunnion bearing for support, distributing fluid pressure and reducing operating torque.
  • Sealing Reliability: Dual sealing design (such as upper and lower flow side hard-seal floating seats) ensures a seal even if one side fails.
  • Long Service Life: The hard-seal structure has high wear resistance, suitable for media containing particles (such as mud) or high-frequency opening and closing scenarios.
  • Safety Design:
  • Dual Interception and Discharge: Upstream and downstream valve seats independently cut off the medium; residual medium in the intermediate cavity can be discharged through the relief valve.
  • Stem Blowout Prevention: The shoulder design prevents the valve stem from being blown out during abnormal pressure increases.
  • Easy Operation: Supports multiple drive methods including manual, electric, pneumatic, or pneumatic-hydraulic linkage to meet automation control requirements.
