Difference between plunger valve and plug valve

1. When opening and closing the plunger valve, the plunger moves slowly in the sealing ring, and the contact surface is almost not worn. When closing, the plunger inserts into the lower sealing ring and cuts off the flow channel; when opening, although the plunger detaches from the lower sealing ring, it still It is hidden in the upper sealing ring to keep it isolated from the outside world and prevent leakage.
2. What controls the opening and closing of the plug valve is not the valve stem that drives it to open, but the cylinder with holes that rotates on the axis to achieve the purpose of switching. This kind of valve has the advantage of rapid switching, simple structure and no noise.
3. The switching methods are completely different, and there are also many differences in the structure. The plunger valve has strong sealing performance and uses wear-resistant sealing material, so its service life is longer than that of the plug valve.
4. The action direction of the valve core is different. The valve core of the plunger valve moves up and down, and its sealing surface needs to rely on the contact between the valve core and the valve seat to achieve the sealing effect. However, for the plug valve, its valve core rotates, and the overall sealing method is a 360-degree seal, which has the advantage of large operating torque.
