Cast Steel Globe Valve with Stainless Steel Disc

Jan 25, 2026 Leave a message

A Cast Steel Globe Valve with Stainless Steel Disc uses a rotating valve stem to move the valve disc up and down, thereby cutting off or allowing the flow of the medium. When the valve disc rises, it is tightly fitted against the valve seat, and the valve is in the closed state; when the valve disc falls, it separates from the valve seat, and the medium flows through the valve, putting it in the open state. By adjusting the rotation angle of the valve stem, the degree of valve opening can be controlled to achieve flow regulation.

Cast Steel Gate Valve with Stainless Steel Disc Product Features

  • Simpler structure than gate valve, easier to manufacture and maintain.
  • Sealing surface is less prone to wear and scratches, good sealing performance. There is no relative sliding between the valve disc and the valve body sealing surface during opening and closing, therefore wear and scratches are not severe, resulting in good sealing performance and long service life.
  • The valve disc stroke is small during opening and closing, therefore the height of the gate valve is smaller than that of the gate valve, but the structural length is longer.
  • Large opening and closing torque, requiring more effort to open and close, and long opening and closing time.
  • High fluid resistance due to the tortuous medium passage within the valve body, resulting in high fluid resistance and high power consumption.
  • Medium flow direction: When the nominal pressure PN≤16MPa, generally co-current flow is adopted, with the medium flowing upwards from below the valve disc; when the nominal pressure PN≥20MPa, generally counter-current flow is adopted, with the medium flowing downwards from above the valve disc to increase sealing performance. During use, the medium in the gate valve can only flow in one direction and cannot change the flow direction.
  • When fully open, the valve disc is frequently eroded.

Working Principle

Opening/Closing Control: Rotating the valve stem moves the valve disc up and down, thus cutting off or allowing the flow of the medium.

Sealing Mechanism:

Closed State: The valve disc and valve seat are tightly fitted together, forming a forced seal to prevent medium leakage.

Open State: The valve disc separates from the valve seat, allowing the medium to flow through the valve.

Flow Rate Regulation: Adjusting the valve stem rotation angle controls the valve disc opening height, thus regulating the flow rate.

Applications

Petrochemical Industry

Used to control the transportation of crude oil, natural gas, and chemical products, preventing leaks and accidents.

Power Industry

Regulating water and steam flow in boiler feedwater systems and steam pipelines.

Metallurgical Industry

Handling high-temperature molten metal or corrosive media, ensuring pipeline safety.

Water Treatment

Controlling fluid flow in urban water supply and sewage treatment.

Selection Considerations

Working Pressure and Temperature: Select appropriate cast steel material and sealing materials based on the working pressure and temperature of the medium.

Media characteristics: Consider the corrosiveness, viscosity, particulate matter content, etc. of the media, and select corrosion-resistant or wear-resistant valves.

Nominal diameter: Select the appropriate valve diameter according to the pipe size to ensure smooth fluid flow.

Connection method: Choose flange connection, butt weld connection or threaded connection according to the piping system.

Drive method: Select manual, electric, pneumatic or other drive methods according to actual needs.
