API 602 globe valves Description
API 602 is a special standard for steel globe valves, gate valves and check valves with a nominal size of ≤DN100 (4 inches) formulated by the American Petroleum Institute (API). A602 globe valves have the characteristics of high-pressure sealing and corrosion resistance:
Features
High-pressure sealing
The valve disc and valve seat are welded with carbide (such as Stellite), with a pressure resistance of CLASS 2500LB (42MPa).
Passed the strict leakage test of API 598 (zero bubble level seal).
Compact structure advantage
Compared with the BS1873 standard, the valve body length is shortened by 20%, which is suitable for manifold layout with limited space.
The inverted seal design supports the replacement of packing under pressure, reducing downtime.
Corrosion-resistant design
NACE MR0175 certified materials (such as duplex steel) are mandatory for high sulfur working conditions.
The chemical medium is adapted to the PTFE-lined valve seat, which is resistant to acid and alkali corrosion.
Low resistance variant
Direct current stop valve (Y-type) has a 60% lower flow resistance and is suitable for media containing solid particles.
