Mud gate valve Description
Mud gate valve is a special valve designed for high-solid content and highly corrosive fluids. It can cut off the pipeline medium by lifting the gate, and is especially suitable for mud transportation systems in oil drilling, mining and mineral processing. Its core functions include:
Wear-resistant cutoff: The gate is made of high-hardness alloy (such as chrome-molybdenum steel, stainless steel) or tungsten carbide coating to resist the erosion and wear of quartz sand and metal particles in the mud;
Bidirectional sealing: Metal/non-metal composite sealing structure, the valve seat has elastic compensation ability to ensure zero leakage under positive and negative pressures;
Anti-clogging design: Full-diameter flow channel (flow resistance coefficient ≤ 0.08), the gate can cut off impurities such as fibers and slag during lifting and lowering to prevent pipeline blockage.

Applications
Oil drilling: Control drilling mud circulation pressure to prevent blowouts (such as Z23Y drilling high-pressure mud gate valve);
Mineral processing: Flow regulation of tailings conveying pipelines to withstand the impact of slurry particles (solid content ≤ 25%);
Sewage treatment: Municipal sludge pipeline cutoff, equipped with electric actuators to achieve remote control.
Selection principles
Medium characteristics: Knife-type gates are preferred when solid content is greater than 10%, and spring compensation valve seats are required for viscous media;
Pressure level: Class 600 or higher high-pressure models are used for oil and gas drilling (such as API 6A standard valves);
Material matching: Duplex steel valve body + PTFE sealing gasket is used for acidic mud environment.
