Motorized Knife Gate Valve

Motorized knife gate valve (also known as electric knife gate valve) is a shut-off valve driven by an electric actuator. It realizes full opening or full closing control of pipeline media through the vertical lifting of the blade-shaped gate. It is specially used for fluid systems containing suspended particles, high viscosity or fiber media. Its core functions include:

‌Forced sealing or self-sealing‌: When closed, the sealing surface can be pressed by external force or medium pressure;
‌Two-way shutoff‌: The knife-shaped gate can cut off complex media such as fibers and mud to prevent backflow.

Structure and components
‌ Valve body‌:
It is made of cast iron, cast steel or stainless steel, and the flow channel is flat and straight-through to reduce medium residue;

There is no chamber structure, the gate rises and falls in the side guide groove, and the bottom lug assists in sealing.
‌ Gate‌:
‌ Rigid gate‌: Integrally cast wedge-shaped blade (wedge angle is usually 5°), suitable for clean media;
‌ Elastic gate‌: It can be slightly deformed to compensate for processing errors and improve sealing adaptability.
‌Sealing system‌:
The valve seat can be selected with metal hard seal or O-ring, supporting bidirectional sealing;
The sealing surface is treated with carbide, and the wear resistance is increased by 3-5 times.
‌Electric actuator‌:
Integrated motor, reducer and stroke controller, supporting remote signal control (such as 4-20mA);
Equipped with overload protection device to prevent gate blockage and damage to the motor

‌Mines and power plants: Gangue discharge, slurry pipeline cut-off control; ‌Sewage treatment‌: Opening and closing of pipelines containing suspended matter to avoid blockage of traditional valves; ‌Food industry‌: Sanitary stainless steel valve bodies are used in high-viscosity material systems such as jam and starch.
