Socket Ends Gate Valve Description

 

‌Socket-and-spigot gate valve‌ is a valve that is directly connected to the pipeline through a ‌socket-and-spigot joint‌. It adopts the ‌gate to vertically cut off the fluid‌ opening and closing method, and is suitable for water treatment, chemical industry and low-pressure pipe network systems‌. Its core design includes:

‌Socket-and-spigot connection‌: Sockets are set at both ends of the valve body. After the pipeline is inserted, it relies on rubber sealing rings to achieve flexible connection. No flange or welding is required, which can compensate for the stress caused by thermal expansion and contraction of the pipeline‌.
‌Gate type‌: It is divided into ‌elastic gate‌ (such as rubber coating) and ‌rigid gate‌ (integral casting). The elastic gate compensates for the wear of the sealing surface through slight deformation and improves the sealing reliability‌.
‌Drive mode‌: It supports manual (rising rod/dark rod) or turbine drive. The dark rod design saves space, and the rising rod can intuitively display the open and closed status of the valve‌.

Performance advantages

Lightweight and corrosion-resistant
The valve body is made of PVC or ductile iron, which is 20%-30% lighter than traditional cast iron valves. It is resistant to acid, alkali and chloride ion corrosion and is suitable for sewage and weakly corrosive media.
The inner cavity of the valve body is sprayed with epoxy resin coating to further prevent corrosion and rust, and is suitable for media environments with pH 6-9.

Sealing performance
The rubber-coated gate forms a soft seal with the valve seat, and the leakage level can reach Class VI (no visible leakage), supporting two-way sealing.
The O-ring seal design reduces the friction resistance of the valve stem, reduces the risk of water leakage, and supports the replacement of the seal without stopping water.

Installation convenience
The socket connection does not require complex construction. During installation, you only need to insert the pipe and fix it, which is suitable for fast construction and maintenance scenarios.

Applications
Municipal water supply: low-pressure cutoff (≤PN16) of water plants and fire-fighting pipe networks, suitable for temperature 0-50℃.
Sewage treatment: sewage pipes containing suspended particles or fibers, flat-bottom flow channel design reduces impurity accumulation.
Agriculture and chemical industry: irrigation systems, low-pressure chemical fluid (such as oil, acid and alkali solution) control, strong corrosion resistance.
