manual gate valve Description
Manual gate valve is a cut-off valve that opens and closes the gate through manual operation (handwheel, handle or gear mechanism). The movement direction of the gate is perpendicular to the fluid. It only supports full-open or fully-closed operations. It is suitable for industrial scenarios such as petroleum, chemical industry, and electric power.
Core components: rigid or elastic gate. The rigid gate is an integral structure. The elastic gate achieves slight deformation through the annular groove design to compensate for the deviation of the sealing surface.
Structure and type
Gate classification:
Rigid gate: a single-piece solid structure with low manufacturing cost, suitable for low temperature (≤121℃) and low pressure conditions, but easy to get stuck due to thermal expansion; Elastic gate: the gate is processed with an annular groove on the vertical bisecting surface, and the elastic deformation is used to compensate for the angle deviation of the sealing surface. It is resistant to high temperature (≤570℃) and anti-jamming.
Sealing form:
Metal hard seal: cladding stainless steel or hard alloy (such as cobalt-based alloy), resistant to high temperature and high pressure (PN10~PN40, Class 150~2500);
Soft seal combination: elastic rubber and metal composite seal, low leakage rate, suitable for clean media.
Drive mechanism:
Handwheel, handle direct drive (small-diameter valve);
Worm gear reduction mechanism (large-diameter valve), reducing operating torque.

Installation and maintenance points
Installation requirements:
Flange connections must be strictly aligned with the pipeline axis to prevent uneven force on the sealing surface and leakage;
Reserve 1/2~1 circle of valve stem retraction in the fully open state to avoid thermal expansion and contraction causing jamming.
Maintenance suggestions:
Regularly clean the valve cavity sediment and check the wear of the gate sealing surface;
Keep it in the fully open state for long-term deactivation to prevent the elastic gate from sticking;
When replacing the packing, give priority to using flexible graphite materials to reduce friction resistance
