Lugged Knife Gate Valve Description
Lug knife gate valve (also known as lug knife gate valve or slurry valve) is a valve specially used to control impure, viscous or corrosive fluids. Its design combines the cutting function of the gate with the installation advantages of the lug structure and is widely used in chemical, electric power, environmental protection and other fields.
Core structural features
Lug design:
The valve body has lugs on both sides, which are directly connected to the pipeline flange by bolts. It is easy to install and avoids the valve body being squeezed and deformed by the bolts, thereby improving the sealing reliability.
Compared with traditional flange valves, lug installation shortens the bolt length and reduces the risk of leakage caused by bolt creep.
Gate and seal structure:
The gate is designed with a U-shaped blade, which can cut off impurities such as fibers and particles to prevent jamming; the surface is polished to enhance the sealing performance.
The seal is divided into soft seal (PTFE, rubber) and hard seal (metal/ceramic). The soft seal achieves zero leakage, and the hard seal is resistant to high temperature (≤300℃) and wear.
Material adaptability:
The valve body is usually made of stainless steel (304/316L), carbon steel or special alloy (such as F55, 2205), which is suitable for corrosive media;
The gate can be made of wear-resistant materials (such as 2Cr13, ceramic) to extend its service life.
Working principle
The gate is lifted vertically by manual, electric or pneumatic drive of the valve stem:
Open state: The gate is fully lifted and the fluid passes through unimpeded;
Closed state: The blade at the bottom of the gate presses the valve seat, cuts off the medium and scrapes off impurities on the sealing surface to achieve two-way sealing.
