Forged Steel Trunnion Ball Valve Supplier-GNEE
Forged ball valves are forged, generally used in high grade pipelines, smaller caliber, generally below DN50. Forging can be divided into open forging (free forging) and closed mode forging according to the molding method. According to the deformation temperature forging can be divided into hot forging, warm forging and cold forging. Forging materials are mainly carbon and alloy steel of various compositions, followed by aluminum, magnesium, titanium, copper and its alloys. The original state of the material is bar, ingot, metal powder and liquid metal. The ratio of the cross sectional area of the metal before deformation to the die sectional area after deformation is called forging ratio.

What are the parts of a forged ball valve?
Handle/Handwheel
The handwheel or handle on a forged ball valve is where the valve operator applies force to turn the valve to close or open the flow of fluid.
The stem
The stem of a forged ball valve connects the ball to the handwheel. It ensures that force is transmitted from the handle to the ball when the operator needs to operate the valve.
Ball
This is a spherical element with a through hole. The ball opens the flow of fluid when the holes are aligned with the pipe conveying the fluid, and closes it when the holes are aligned at a 90-degree angle to the same pipe. The job of the ball is to close or open the valve as needed.
Seat
The seat is the component used to seal the inside of the valve and evenly distribute the stress on the ball valve seat. It also prevents fluid leakage between the ball and the valve body when the valve is closed. Manufacturers of forged ball valves use metal or soft materials such as rubber and plastic to manufacture seats. The choice of seat material depends on the area of application and the expected temperature of the fluid. For hot fluids, metal seats are used, while for temperatures below 65oC, soft materials are used.
Valve body
The valve body, also known as the valve housing, covers all the internal parts of the pump, such as the balls, seats, seals and rings. The body provides the inlet and outlet of the valve for the fluid. It also helps prevent contaminants and solids from entering the pump.
Cap
The bonnet is mounted on the valve body and the two are bolted and nutted together. The purpose of the bonnet is to cover the valve stem and packing. It also enhances the security of the valve stem and packing.
Packing
Packing is a seal that prevents fluid leakage around the valve stem. It also prevents dirt and solids from entering the pump through the stem.
