Double Block Bleed (DBB) valves provide a valve that shuts off/isolates both the downstream and upstream systems simultaneously. In the block and drain configuration, the needle or ball valve acts as a drain or drain valve, while the ball valve acts as an isolation or block valve.
Double block and bleed valves are designed and manufactured in accordance with API 6D/6A, ASME B16.34, NACE MR0175, API 598, API 607 and API 6FA. Each double block relief valve is 100% factory tested and approved for industrial and commercial applications. Integral double block and bleed valves are single valves with two seats that, in the closed position, seal against pressure at both ends of the valve by venting/bleeding the cavity between the sealing surfaces of the seats. The use of dual block and bleed valves replaces the need to use three separate valves to perform the same function. This has three major benefits: reducing the size and weight of the piping system, thereby reducing the stresses acting on the piping; reducing installation time and reducing the number of leak paths.
