Ball valve for the oil and gas industry is a valve designed for oil and gas transportation. It can realize the on-off, regulation or flow control of the medium in the pipeline by rotating the ball. The core functions include:
High-pressure sealing: meet the high-pressure requirements of oil and gas pipelines (such as PN16-PN420), leakage level reaches VI, leakage volume <100ppm;
Resistant to extreme working conditions: applicable temperature range covers -29℃~538℃, suitable for liquefied natural gas (LNG), high-temperature steam and other scenarios;
Medium adaptability: hard sealing structure can withstand crude oil containing solid particles and fibers and corrosive gases.
Structure and classification
According to the sealing form:
Soft sealing ball valve: using PTFE and other materials, suitable for conventional oil and gas media (such as natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas);
Hard sealing ball valve: Stellite alloy surfacing sealing surface, resistant to high temperature, high pressure and abrasive media.
By connection method:
Fully welded ball valve: The valve body is welded as a whole, without the risk of leakage, suitable for long-distance pipelines below Class 900 (DN50-DN1500);
Flange-connected ball valve: Meets API standards and is easy to disassemble and maintain.
By drive method:
Gas-liquid linkage ball valve: No external power supply is required, suitable for remote control of long-distance natural gas pipelines;
Electric/manual ball valve: Used in conventional stations or regulation scenarios.

Applications
Oil pipelines: Large-diameter fully welded ball valves (such as DN1200) are used for high-pressure crude oil trunk lines, with a pressure resistance of PN64; V-type regulating ball valves accurately control the flow of medium containing particles.
Natural gas transportation: Gas-liquid linkage ball valves are used for unattended long-distance pipelines and support rapid disconnection; Class600 hard-sealed ball valves are suitable for high-pressure natural gas distribution stations.
