What is ptfe lined check valve

Jan 22, 2026 Leave a message

A PTFE-lined check valve is a special type of check valve with its inner wall lined with fluoroplastics (such as PTFE, FEP, PFA, etc.). It is suitable for pipelines carrying highly corrosive media to prevent backflow. Due to the extremely strong corrosion resistance and excellent chemical stability of fluoroplastics, PTFE-lined check valves are widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, metallurgical, electroplating, and environmental protection industries, especially when conveying corrosive liquids such as strong acids, strong alkalis, and organic solvents. GNEE Group specializes in manufacturing PTFE-lined check valves; send us your drawings to receive a quote.

PTFE-lined Check Valve Technical Parameters

Valve Body Material: Cast steel, stainless steel, carbon steel, alloy steel, copper alloy, etc.

Rated Pressure: PN10-PN40

Applicable Media: Corrosive media such as strong acids, strong alkalis, and organic solvents

Connection Methods: Flange, wafer, welded, etc.

Design Standards: GB/T 12236-2005, API 594, API 6D, etc.

Operation Methods: Manual, pneumatic, electric, etc.

Sealing Structure: Bidirectional sealing, zero-leakage design

Standard Tests: GB/T 13927-2008, API 598, etc.

PTFE-lined check valve working principle:

Forward flow: When the medium flows in the direction of the arrow, the valve disc automatically opens under fluid pressure, allowing the medium to pass through.

Reverse flow: When the medium attempts to flow in the opposite direction, the valve disc quickly closes under its own weight and the reverse force of the medium, tightly sealing against the valve seat and blocking backflow.

Features of PTFE-lined check valves:

Excellent corrosion resistance

Suitable for strong acids (such as sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid), strong alkalis, organic solvents, and other chemical media.

Strong sealing performance

The fluoroplastic material is flexible and fits tightly with the valve disc and seat, ensuring no leakage of the medium.

Compact structure and flexible installation

Can be installed horizontally or vertically to adapt to different working conditions.

Excellent temperature and pressure resistance

The fluoroplastic lining can withstand high temperatures and pressures, typically suitable for a range of -50℃ to 150℃.

Long service life

The fluoroplastic lining material has excellent wear resistance and anti-aging properties, extending the valve's service life.

PTFE-lined check valve Application

PTFE lined check valves are widely used in industrial applications requiring extremely high corrosion resistance of the media:

  • Chemical Industry: Transporting strong acids such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and hydrofluoric acid, as well as organic solvents;
  • Petroleum Industry: Handling oil-gas mixtures containing corrosive components;
  • Pharmaceutical Industry: Transporting pharmaceutical solutions and chemical reagents;
  • Power Industry: Transporting media such as cooling water and desulfurizing agents;
  • Environmental Protection Industry: Treating corrosive fluids such as wastewater and sewage;
  • Food Industry: Transporting acidic or alkaline food ingredients.
