What is Pneumatic discharge ball valve

Jan 21, 2026 Leave a message

The pneumatic discharge ball valve uses a ball as the opening and closing element, achieving 90° rotation for opening and closing via the valve stem. The short distance between the valve seat and flange reduces material residue, and it is equipped with PPL wear-resistant sealing material to improve sealing performance in high-wear environments.

The double-flange structure conforms to GB9113/JB79 PN10 standards, and its compact layout enhances equipment stability. The nominal diameter range covers DN25 to DN100. It can withstand temperatures from -60℃ to 425℃ and pressures from 0.6 to 2.5MPa, and is suitable for media such as water and acetone, but not for fluoride-containing ionic liquids. Typical applications include discharge control in the vacuum paste-making process of the toothpaste industry.

Design Features

Inclined Stem Structure

The valve stem is inclined at a 105°-120° angle to the valve body, avoiding interference between the actuator and the tank bottom jacket layer, reducing operating torque. The valve stem only rises and falls without rotating, reducing packing wear and extending service life. No Residue Flow

Channel Design

Arc-shaped flange and spherical valve core matching: When closed, the spherical surface forms a seamless connection with the tank bottom flange, eliminating dead zones for material accumulation. Full-bore flow channel: Low flow resistance, suitable for high-viscosity or particulate media. Modular

Sealing and Materials

Sealing type: Optional soft seal (PTFE, zero leakage) or hard seal (steel alloy overlay, high temperature resistance up to 650℃), sealing level up to VI. Lining technology: The valve body is lined with fluoroplastic (such as PTFE) or coated with Teflon, resistant to strong acids, strong alkalis and organic solvent corrosion.

Key Performance Parameters

Temperature Range: Varies depending on the material. WCB material: -29℃~425℃; Stainless steel: -60℃~232℃; fluoropolymer-lined material: -40℃~450℃.

Pressure Range: Standard operating pressure is 0.6~2.5MPa; special operating conditions require customization.

Drive Method: Driven by compressed air (4-7 bar), supports single-acting (spring return) or double-acting modes, with optional handwheel operation.

Applications:

Widely used in fine chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food processing, petrochemicals, metallurgy, and other industries, especially suitable for bottom discharge of reaction vessels and storage tanks, and for conveying fine and soft particulate media. For example:

Pharmaceutical industry reaction vessel discharge;

Toothpaste industry vacuum paste-making vessel discharge;

Chemical industry control of high-viscosity or corrosive materials.

Advantages:

Low retention design: Close distance between valve seat and flange reduces material residue and meets sanitary requirements.

High sealing performance: Employs line seals or hard alloy sealing pairs to prevent scaling and leakage.

Wear and corrosion resistance: Sealing ring surface hardness reaches HRC56~62, valve disc is overlaid with hard alloy, suitable for erosive media.

Easy operation: Pneumatic drive enables rapid opening and closing, supports remote control or computer program control.

Selection and Considerations for Discharge Pneumatic Ball Valves

Key Selection Factors

Media characteristics: Select material based on corrosiveness, temperature, and particle content (e.g., fluoropolymer-lined type for strong corrosion, stainless steel for high temperatures).

Connection methods: Flange, welding, wafer, or clamp type, must match the equipment interface standard.

Functional requirements: For flow regulation, a regulating valve with a 4~20mA signal can be selected.

Precautions for use:

Use under prohibited media conditions is strictly prohibited. Contact with HF will cause corrosion failure of stainless steel materials.

For operating conditions exceeding the rated temperature/pressure, prior consultation with the manufacturer is required for customization.

Regularly check the wear of the sealing rings and replace them promptly to ensure sealing performance.
