What is High Temperture Gate Valve

Aug 25, 2025 Leave a message

High-Temperature Gate Valves‌ are classified into two main types based on gate disc structure: ‌wedge-type‌ (including single-disc, double-disc and flexible-wedge designs) and ‌parallel slide-type‌. Valve stem drive mechanisms include ‌rising-stem threaded transmission‌ and ‌non-rising rotating transmission‌.

The sealing design utilizes ‌self-sealing principles‌, combining ‌hard alloy welding on sealing surfaces‌ with ‌flexible graphite packing‌. Some models employ ‌elastic wedge compensation‌ to compensate for machining deviations and improve sealing performance.

During installation:

The double-disc type must be installed ‌vertically

Models with bypass valves require ‌preliminary pressure differential balancing

Bevel gear drives‌ or ‌electric actuators‌ are available to meet different operational requirements.

Key Features:

  • Heat-Resistant Materials – Constructed from alloy steel, stainless steel, or chrome-moly for durability at elevated temperatures.
  • Robust Seal Design – Features reinforced seats and stem packing to prevent leakage under thermal stress.
  • Thermal Stability – Engineered to handle hig temperatures , depending on material.
  • Flexible Operation – Available in manual, gear-operated, or actuated versions.

Applications:

Power plants (steam & boiler systems)

Refineries & petrochemical processing

High-temperature gas pipelines

Industrial furnaces & heat treatment systems
