1. Basic definition
Single flange butterfly valve is a butterfly valve that uses flange connection only on one side. It realizes the opening, closing, regulation or cutoff of pipeline media by rotating the circular butterfly plate (valve disc). It is widely used in the fields of petroleum, chemical industry, municipal water supply and drainage. Its core feature is the single-side flange structure, and the other side is usually connected to the pipeline by other means (such as clamping type), which has both compact structure and installation flexibility.
2. Core structure and composition
Main components:
Flange: Single-side flange is used for fastening with pipelines, and the material is mostly cast iron, stainless steel (such as 304/316L) or alloy steel.
Butterfly plate: Circular metal or composite material (such as stainless steel + EPDM sealing layer), driven by the valve stem to rotate to achieve flow control.
Sealing components:
Soft seal: rubber (such as EPDM), PTFE, suitable for low temperature (-40℃~150℃) clear water medium.
Hard seal: metal laminate or eccentric structure, resistant to high temperature (≤650℃) and high pressure (≤10MPa).
Drive mode:
Manual (handle/worm gear), electric or pneumatic, supporting automation integration and remote control.
