What is a cast steel valve?
1. Basic definition
Cast steel valve is cast steel (such as WCA, WCB, WCC and other carbon steel or low alloy steel) as the material, through the casting process of moulding industrial valves, suitable for water, oil, natural gas and other media cut-off, regulation or distribution functions.
2. Key features
Applicable temperature: conventional cast steel valve operating temperature range -29 ℃ ~ 425 ℃, some materials (such as 16Mn, 30Mn) can be extended to 595 ℃. The temperature range is -29℃~425℃.
Pressure capacity: nominal pressure PN ≤ 40MPa, suitable for high-pressure pipeline systems.
Classification and typical products
1. Classification according to valve type
| Type | feature |
|---|---|
| Cast steel gate valve | Vertical movement of the gate plate to achieve interception of flow, suitable for pipeline regulation and medium cut-off. |
| Cast steel ball valve | Ball rotation to control the flow of media, hard seal type (such as V-shaped ball core) can handle media containing fibres, solid particles. |
| Cast steel butterfly valve | Butterfly plate rotary opening and closing, compact structure, suitable for large flow and low pressure difference scene |
| Cast steel relief valve | Regulates medium pressure and temperature, ensures stable outlet parameters and is commonly used in pneumatic systems. |
2. Classified by connection
Flange connection: such as Q41H-16C cast steel ball valve.
Threaded connection: such as Z11F-10C cast steel gate valve.
Clamp connection: such as D373W-20C cast steel butterfly valve.
Material and standard specification
1. Commonly used materials
Carbon steel series: WCA, WCB, WCC, general-purpose cast steel materials.
Alloy steel series: 16Mn, 30Mn, to improve high temperature performance.
2. Execution Standard
ASTM A216: conventional cast steel valve material standards.
ASTM A105: part of the high quality steel (such as 20, 25, 30 steel) reference standard.
Application Scenarios and Selection Suggestions
1. Typical industrial scenarios
Energy transmission: oil, natural gas pipeline system cut-off and regulation.
Chemical process: fluid control of corrosive media (need to match the seal material, such as PTFE lining).
Thermal system: medium and high temperature steam, heat transfer oil circulation device.
2. Selection parameters reference
Pressure level: priority matching system design pressure (such as PN16, PN40).
Sealing requirements:
Hard seal: particle abrasion resistance (such as V-ball valve).
Soft seal: high sealing (such as PTFE seal)
