International Standards
- American Standard:
ASME B16.34: covers the general requirements for valves with flanged ends, butt-welded ends and threaded ends, including pressure-temperature ratings, material requirements, dimensions and tolerances, etc. It is an important basic standard for gate valve design.
API 600/ISO 10434: Specifically for the oil and gas industry bolted steel gate valves, provides for the design of such gate valves, manufacturing, materials, inspection and other aspects of the detailed requirements, such as the valve body wall thickness, stem strength, sealing performance and so on are clearly specified.
API 603: for 150lb corrosion-resistant flanged end casting gate valve, the selection of corrosion-resistant materials and manufacturing process has special requirements.
- British Standard:
BS 1414 is the petroleum, petrochemical and refining industry steel gate valve standard, the gate valve in these specific industrial applications gives the relevant specifications.
- Japanese Industrial Standard:
