Ventilation butterfly valves

Jan 26, 2026 Leave a message

Ventilation Butterfly Valves employ a metal sealing system, suitable for operating conditions with temperatures ≤300℃ and nominal pressures 0.1MPa. They support multiple actuation methods, including manual, electric, and pneumatic, and the butterfly plate can rotate within a 90° range to control the medium. Based on the sealing method, they are classified into three types: forced sealing, pressurized sealing, and automatic sealing. Connection methods include wafer type and flange type. During installation, they must be kept horizontal, the medium flow direction must be consistent with the markings on the valve body, and they must pass strength and tightness tests. Nominal diameters cover 50-2000mm, suitable for dusty gases such as coal gas and flue gas.

Ventilation Butterfly Valve Structural Features and Performance Advantages

Compact and Lightweight Design

Utilizing a center-line butterfly plate welded with short-structure steel plates, the structure is compact, weighing only 1/3 of a gate valve of the same diameter. It requires little installation space, making it particularly suitable for high-altitude or concealed ductwork.

No internal connecting rods, bolts, or other components, reducing potential failure points and extending service life to over 100,000 cycles.

High Temperature Resistance and Wear Resistance

Soft Seal: Employs rubber or PTFE lining, providing excellent sealing performance (leakage rate ≤0.1%), but with limited temperature resistance (≤200℃), suitable for general ventilation systems.

Hard Seal: Metal-to-metal or metal-to-ceramic seal, high temperature resistance (up to 1000℃), wear resistance, leakage rate ≤0.5%, suitable for high-temperature dusty gases (such as blast furnace gas in metallurgical processes, and dust pipelines in cement plants).

Composite Seal: Combines the advantages of soft and hard seals (e.g., metal frame + PTFE coating), balancing temperature resistance and sealing performance.

Low Flow Resistance and High Energy Efficiency

When the butterfly valve is fully open, it offers minimal resistance to media flow and low pressure loss, making it particularly suitable for ventilation systems with high flow rates and low pressure differentials, thus reducing energy consumption.

Flexible Drive Methods

Manual Drive: Operated via a handle or worm gear, suitable for simple operating conditions or standby control.

Electric Drive: Supports 4-20mA signal input for remote automated adjustment; when matched with a regulating actuator, it can precisely control flow rate.

Pneumatic Drive: Fast response speed, suitable for explosion-proof or high-frequency opening and closing scenarios.
