I. Applications of Plug Valves
Plug valves are primarily used for flow control and regulation in pipelines, capable of adjusting medium flow rate and pressure. They are widely applied in petroleum, chemical, metallurgical, light industry, food and other sectors, mainly for the following purposes:
Flow Regulation: Plug valves feature simple structure, long service life and excellent sealing performance, making them suitable for regulating various media. They provide stable and precise flow control.
Shut-off Function: With superior sealing capability, plug valves can completely isolate pipelines for maintenance or cleaning operations.
Process Control: By adjusting the opening degree, plug valves control medium parameters to ensure stable flow, pressure and temperature in industrial processes.
Pressure Regulation: The valves regulate pipeline pressure through opening degree adjustments.

II. Working Principle
A plug valve consists of valve body, bonnet, plug and stem. It operates by rotating the plug within the valve body:
Closed Position: The plug fully contacts the seat to achieve sealing.
Open Position: The rotated plug disengages from the seat, forming flow passages.
Flow Control: Larger plug openings allow greater flow rates, while smaller openings reduce flow accordingly.
III. Usage Precautions
Install valves according to specifications with anti-corrosion treatment.
Verify sealing performance before installation.
Avoid media containing solid particles to prevent plug damage.
Always isolate pipelines before maintenance or cleaning.
