What is Piston Type Regulable Pressure Reduce Valve

Dec 29, 2025 Leave a message

The Piston Type Regulable Pressure Reduce Valve offers inlet pressure up to 25 bar and an adjustable outlet pressure range of 0.5-5.5 bar. Nominal diameters range from DN25 to 800 mm, and connection types include threaded and flanged options. This valve is primarily used in high-rise building water supply networks, fire protection systems, industrial water supply, and HVAC systems to stabilize pipeline pressure and protect water-using equipment.

The valve body is available in single-chamber and double-chamber designs. The single-chamber design uses a diaphragm to separate the control chambers for opening and closing, while the double-chamber design employs a three-chamber differential pressure drive. Materials include cast iron, stainless steel, or nickel-plated brass. Seals are made of NBR rubber and conform to CJT 256-2007 standards. During installation, a pre-filter is required, and the valve cover must be facing upwards. The medium flow direction must match the arrow marked on the valve. By adjusting the pilot valve system, it can be expanded into dozens of functional valves, such as remote-controlled float valves and flow control valves. The piston-type structure features high pressure resistance and long service life, making it suitable for PN40 high-pressure conditions.

Performance parameters:

Nominal pressure covers 1.6MPa, 6.3MPa, 16MPa, and 32MPa.

Shell test pressure is 1.5 times the nominal pressure; for example, the 16MPa model has a test pressure of 24MPa.

Outlet pressure adjustment range is continuously adjustable, divided into 0.05-1.0MPa, 0.5-5.0MPa, and 1.0-10MPa ranges, with pressure stabilization accuracy ≤ ±1.5%.

Rated flow rate varies with nozzle diameter: DN10 corresponds to 3 m²/h (gas) or 10 L/min (liquid); DN100 corresponds to 80 m²/h (gas) or 200 L/min (liquid). Applicable temperature range: -20℃ to 120℃, some high-temperature models can withstand 150℃, medium viscosity: 20-400cSt, vibration resistance level: 8g (10-2000Hz), meets the requirements of JB/T 2203-1999 standard.

Application Characteristics:

Used for pressure reduction in pipelines, especially for branch pipes and main pipes in high-rise buildings. In cases of localized high pressure or sudden pressure spikes, it maintains a constant water pressure at the point of entry, protecting downstream water appliances and maximizing water conservation.
