CF8M Two-Piece Floating Ball Valve Description
The CF8M two-piece floating ball valve consists of two valve segments, with the ball floating and operating under medium pressure. The core of the two-piece design lies in the coordinated operation of these two valve segments. These segments are typically symmetrically distributed and connected to the ball via grooves or other attachment methods on the ball. When the valve opens, the two valve segments rotate with the ball, allowing smooth medium flow. When closed, medium pressure pushes the ball against the seat, causing the valve segments to tightly seal against the seat for reliable sealing.
Working Principle of CF8M Two-Piece Floating Ball Valve
The operation of the two-piece floating ball valve relies on medium pressure and the floating characteristics of the ball. When medium flows through the valve, pressure acts on the ball, causing it to float upward. Due to the connection between the valve segments and the ball, the segments also move accordingly, opening the flow passage. Medium flow rate and pressure influence the floating degree of the ball, thereby regulating fluid flow.
When closing the valve, the ball is typically rotated 90 degrees via a handwheel or actuator, causing the two valve segments to turn and press against the seat with medium pressure assistance, achieving complete sealing. This medium-pressure-assisted sealing design ensures reliable sealing performance, even under high-pressure conditions.
The "floating" characteristic of the ball valve refers to the fact that the ball is not fixed to the stem but instead maintains its position through medium pressure. This design better adapts to pressure variations, reduces internal friction, and extends valve lifespan while lowering maintenance costs.
