What are the advantages of axial flow check valves

Jun 25, 2025Leave a message
  • The advantages of axial flow check valves such as fast opening and closing, good sealing and reduced fluid resistance make them outstanding in a wide range of applications, effectively controlling noise and water hammer. Axial flow check valves are known for their short stroke. Compared with swing and wafer check valves, especially on large-diameter valves, their relative stroke is shorter, so they can be closed more quickly.
  • Thanks to its light weight and low inertia, the impact force on the valve seat is significantly reduced when the valve disc is closed after a short stroke. This design effectively reduces the leakage problem caused by damage to the valve seat sealing surface. At the same time, when the fluid passes through the axial flow check valve, it can maintain a laminar flow state through the gradually contracting and expanding flow channel, thereby reducing the loss of fluid pressure and keeping the flow resistance coefficient of the valve at a low level.
  • During the closing process of the valve disc, the backflow speed of the medium is effectively controlled. At the same time, the reset effect of the spring makes the opening and closing process of the valve impact-free, thereby reducing the occurrence of mechanical vibration, noise and water hammer.

Wide application of axial flow check valves

Axial flow check valves have won wide acclaim for their excellent running stability, small flow resistance, low water hammer pressure, excellent flow state and rapid response to medium pressure changes. In addition, their low noise and excellent sealing are icing on the cake. According to the different disc structures, axial flow check valves can be divided into sleeve, disc and ring disc types. These structural forms have their own characteristics, and the appropriate type can be selected according to specific needs.
