Soft seal advantages and disadvantages
Soft sealing vice is usually metal - non-metallic, or non-metallic - metal. The hardness difference between the two is large, non-metallic usually soft materials, such as rubber (nitrile rubber, EPDM, etc.) and plastic (PTFE, nylon, etc.).
Advantages: good sealing performance, for some thin-walled valves or high-precision valves, the soft seal can better protect its sealing; wide range of applications, suitable for a variety of media and temperature conditions; sealing surface is made of ceramic or plastic and other materials, with good corrosion resistance.
Disadvantages: there are certain restrictions on the temperature, long time by the high temperature is easy to deformation failure; short service life, usually not suitable for long-term use of high-pressure high-temperature conditions; high maintenance costs, due to the short service life, the need for frequent replacement resulting in increased maintenance costs.
