Pneumatic Globe Valves Description
Pneumatic globe valve is a control valve that uses compressed air as the power source. It drives the valve disc to rise and fall through the pneumatic actuator to achieve full open/close control of the pipeline medium. It is suitable for rapid cut-off and safe isolation needs in the fields of petroleum, chemical industry, and power.
Core structure and working principle
Basic components:
Pneumatic actuator: double-acting or single-acting cylinder, receiving the control signal (4~9 bar compressed air) to drive the valve stem to move.
Valve body and valve disc: The valve disc is a plug-shaped structure, the sealing surface adopts a flat or conical surface design, and the valve seat is welded with cobalt-based hard alloy to improve wear resistance.
Sealing form: forced sealing (medium pressure auxiliary sealing) or self-sealing (valve disc pressure sealing).
Working principle:
The pneumatic actuator switches the air source direction through the solenoid valve, pushes the piston or diaphragm to drive the valve stem to move vertically, so that the valve disc contacts or separates from the valve seat to achieve opening and closing.
Failure protection: Single-acting actuators rely on spring reset and automatically close when air is lost (fail-safe type).

Application:
Industrial cut-off: Emergency cut-off of high-temperature steam and corrosive media (including H₂S, CO₂).
Safe isolation: Liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage and transportation pipelines, liquid oxygen pump outlets of air separation equipment.
Selection points:
Medium characteristics: For medium containing particles, the hard seal + inclined valve seat structure is preferred to reduce wear.
Actuator: For high pressure difference conditions (>10 MPa), a double-acting cylinder must be selected to ensure the driving force.
Installation direction: The flow direction of the medium should be consistent with the arrow on the valve body to avoid reverse installation and seal failure.
