Cast iron globe valve is a type of globe valve manufactured using cast iron material, which is characterized by low cost and corrosion resistance. In cast iron globe valves, the valve plate and seat ring are usually made of bronze. In steel globe valves for temperatures up to 750°F (399°C), the valve internals are usually made of stainless steel so they resist seizing and wear. Mating surfaces are often heat-treated to obtain different hardness values. Other decorative materials, including cobalt-based alloys, are also used. Cast iron globe valves are mainly designed for stopping, starting and regulating flow and are suitable for low pressure and low temperature fluid control applications.
