Stainless Steel Cryogenic Check Valves Description

 

Stainless steel cryogenic check valve is specially used in extremely low temperature environments with medium temperature ≤ -40℃ (such as liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, liquefied natural gas, etc.). It automatically opens and closes the valve disc to prevent the medium from flowing back. It is the core safety control component of cryogenic storage and transportation, air separation equipment, and liquefied gas pipelines.

Core parameters and performance

Applicable working conditions:

Temperature range: -196℃~+80℃ (applicable to ultra-low temperature conditions when the sealing surface is PTFE/PCTFE).

Pressure rating: PN16~PN320 (up to Class 1500), which can withstand the phase change expansion pressure of liquid media.

Applicable media: liquid oxygen (LO₂), liquid nitrogen (LN₂), liquid argon (LAr), liquefied natural gas (LNG), etc.

Structure and sealing:

Valve body material: 304/316L stainless steel or 2205/2507 duplex steel, with low temperature toughness and corrosion resistance.
‌Sealing design‌:
The valve disc sealing surface is welded with cobalt-based alloy or hard alloy to ensure zero leakage at -196℃ (leakage rate ≤ 10 ppm).
Equipped with a metal bellows compensation structure to prevent the valve stem from shrinking at low temperature and causing sealing failure.

‌Liquefied gas storage and transportation‌:
LNG receiving stations, import and export pipelines of liquid oxygen/liquid nitrogen storage tanks, to prevent medium backflow and cause equipment overpressure‌.
Cryogenic tank truck loading and unloading system, to withstand the low temperature impact of liquid hydrocarbon media‌.

Air separation and chemical equipment‌:
The outlet pipeline of the liquid oxygen pump in the air separation equipment must comply with the ISO 15848 cryogenic valve standard‌.
