Electric Actuated Butterfly Valve Description
Electric butterfly valve is a valve that is driven by an electric actuator to rotate a circular butterfly plate. The butterfly plate rotates around the valve axis 0°-90° to achieve the opening and closing or flow regulation of the pipeline medium. Its core functions include:
Fast control: 90° rotation can complete full opening or full closing action, fast response speed, suitable for automatic control systems.
Low flow resistance design: When fully open, the thickness of the butterfly plate is the only resistance to the flow of the medium, and the pressure loss is only 1/3 of the gate valve of the same diameter.
Structure and design features
Main components:
Valve body: Made of cast iron, ductile iron or stainless steel (such as 304/316), flange or clamp connection meets GB/ANSI standards, and the pressure range is 1.0-4.0MPa.
Butterfly plate: disc-shaped structure, hard seal type surface surfacing tungsten carbide, soft seal type embedded PTFE or rubber seal ring.
Drive and seal:
Electric actuator: supports switch type (220V AC) or modulation type (4-20mA signal), torque covers 50-2000N·m, with explosion-proof (ExdⅡBT4) and IP67 protection level.
Double sealing solution:
Elastic seal: Nitrile rubber or PTFE valve seat, leakage level up to VI, applicable temperature -20℃~150℃.
Metal hard seal: multi-layer stainless steel + graphite structure, high temperature resistance up to 450℃, resistant to erosion of granular media.

Selection suggestions:
High temperature and high pressure environment: Prefer hard-sealed butterfly valves (such as D943W), the valve body material must be WCB or 316L stainless steel.
Corrosive media: Use fluorine-lined butterfly valves (PTFE lining), resistant to strong acid and alkali corrosion.
Applications
