Cast Iron Wafer Butterfly Valves Description
Cast iron wafer butterfly valve is a butterfly valve type with ductile iron (QT450-10/GGG40) as the valve body material and wafer connection. The valve stem drives the butterfly plate to rotate 90° to achieve rapid opening and closing or flow regulation of pipeline media. Its core functions include:
Fast opening and closing: 90° rotation can complete full opening/full closing action, with small operating torque, labor-saving and light, suitable for frequent opening and closing scenarios.
Reliable sealing: EPDM or NBR rubber valve seat is used, the sealing surface width is large, and bidirectional sealing can achieve zero leakage, and the leakage level reaches ANSI VI level.
Structural and design features
Main components:
Valve body: Ductile iron material (pressure resistance 1.0-1.6MPa), wafer connection meets GB/ANSI standards, thickness meets GB26640 pressure requirements, and the surface is anti-corrosion by powder thermal spraying process.
Butterfly plate: Made of ductile iron or cast steel, pinless design avoids jamming, and some models are sprayed with tungsten carbide on the surface to enhance wear resistance.
Sealing system:
Wide-edge valve seat: The EPDM rubber valve seat contains 50% rubber, the sealing surface width is wider, the contact area with the pipeline flange is large, and the long-term sealing stability is high.
Stem seal: Stainless steel valve stem (304/316) with PTFE packing and O-ring to prevent medium leakage.
Drive mode:
Basic configuration: Handle or turbine drive, small operating torque and support manual quick adjustment.
Extended configuration: It can be adapted to pneumatic actuators (such as D671J series) or electric actuators to achieve remote automation control.

Selection recommendations
Media type:
Corrosive media: Select rubber-lined butterfly valve (such as D671J-10Q), and the valve seat uses PTFE or fluororubber to enhance corrosion resistance.
High-temperature steam: The valve body material is upgraded to cast steel (WCB), and the sealing material is replaced with heat-resistant rubber (upper temperature limit 150°C).
Pressure level:
Low-pressure scenario (≤1.6MPa): Standard ductile iron valve body can meet the requirements.
High-pressure scenario (＞1.6MPa): It is recommended to use cast steel valve body (such as Q41F series) or thickened flange design
