Cast Steel Butterfly Valve

‌Cast steel butterfly valve‌ is a type of butterfly valve with ‌cast steel (such as WCB material)‌ as the main valve body material. The pipeline medium is cut off or the flow is regulated by rotating the butterfly plate. Its core design goal is to provide a reliable control solution for medium and high pressure conditions (usually up to PN40) and corrosive media environments. It is widely used in power, petrochemical, metallurgy and other fields.

Core characteristics and material comparison ‌ ‌ Material advantages ‌ ‌ Pressure resistance ‌: The strength of cast steel valve body is significantly higher than that of cast iron (such as gray cast iron CI or ductile iron DI), and can withstand high temperatures of ≤425℃ and high pressure environments of ≥16 bar; ‌ Corrosion resistance ‌: Compared with ordinary carbon steel, cast steel adds alloy elements such as chromium and molybdenum, and has stronger tolerance to weak acids, weak alkalis and sulfur-containing media; ‌ Economic efficiency ‌: Under the same pressure level, the cost of cast steel butterfly valve is lower than that of stainless steel, and the performance is better than cast iron, making it a cost-effective choice for medium and high pressure systems.
‌Structural design‌

‌Valve body and butterfly plate‌: precision casting technology is adopted, the surface roughness of the flow channel is ≤3.2μm, reducing fluid resistance; the butterfly plate and the valve seat are combined through hard seal (such as surfacing Stellite alloy) or soft seal (fluororubber) to achieve two-way zero leakage (leakage level VI);
‌Drive mode‌: adapted to worm gear manual operation or electric/pneumatic actuator (such as American VTON products), fast response speed (pneumatic opening and closing time ≤10 seconds), supporting automatic control.
